Edouard Marcel Sandoz is a sculptor and figurist and animal painter aquarelless Swiss born March 21, 1881 in Basel, Switzerland, and died 20 March 1971 in Lausanne, Switzerland. Edouard Marcel Sandoz was born 21 March 1881 in Basel, Switzerland. He is the son of Edward Sandoz, the founder of chemical company Sandoz Pharmaceutical then (now Novartis). He studied at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris with Antonin Mercie and Jean-Antoine Injalbert. Sandoz is best known for his many cans, bottles, carafes, tea and porcelain coffee. He worked various materials, marble, bronze, ceramics. His style owes much to Art Nouveau. He founded the French society of animal in 1933. His commitment to serving his fellow artists led him to preside over nearly twenty years the Taylor Foundation, created by Isidore Justin Séverin Taylor. He created the Work of children and artists involved in the creation of the Cité des Arts in Paris. Sandoz was a member of the Academy of Fine Arts of the Institut de France.. The company Susse brothers was established in 1758 in Paris, originally stationery trade, she won acclaim in the art foundry. Today is the oldest art foundry in France still active under the name of Foundries Cherchemidi SAS – Susse Fondeur1. The Susse brothers, Nicolas and Victor began by commercializing small bronzes in their stationery Passage des Panoramas.
