Stands on a circular base decorated with lotus flowers, which is itself stood upon a square pedestal. A decorated aureole, with flaming rim, can be seen behind him, confirming his divinity. The distinctive patina of the piece is particularly delightful. Ganesha is the elephant headed son of Shiva. Of his broken tusk in his hand. The breaking of the tusk has several backstories.
